Making Writing Snap
Presented by Vivian Zabel
Making Writing Snap includes bringing characters to life, having an arresting plot, starting a work with a hook, and keeping a reader wanting to know what happens next. Vivian Zabel (a published author, former writing teacher, a professional editor, and the head of a publishing company) shares some ways to help authors gain the attention of agents and publishers by having writing that snaps. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Promoting Non-Fiction Works
Presented by Karen Cooper
Non-fiction works can be promoted through book-signings and lectures scheduled for libraries, museums, university classes, book stores, and literary events. Writing your own press releases in the form of a book review can also get notice. Karen Coody Cooper authored Spirited Encounters, co-edited Living Homes for Cultural Expression, organized her own book tours, and is currently promoting her book of poetry, Fault Line. She will share her experiences in promotion and can discuss finding a non-fiction publisher.
